This week, I’m one of the judges at Iron Fork, the cooking and cocktail competition put on by City Pages. The chefs get a secret ingredient, and off they go. Hopefully it’s not disgusting. In advance of the competition, reporter Jesse Marx took me to lunch at Be’Wiched Deli, and asked me a million questions about the Twin Cities dining scene.
(Jesse did leave out me saying that my mom is an EXCELLENT cook and that I still crave her sauerbraten! Also left out me mentioning my dad’s culinary magic of Mac & Cheese and Rice-a-roni when he was in charge!)
Some of the questions: Do I cook at home? What chefs do I admire? What is the Twin Cities dining scene lacking? Am I too good for the Olive Garden? What’s my relationship like with Andrew Zimmern? Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl? And don’t miss my thoughts on good, not great, Twin Cities restaurants (it’s the last paragraph on page two).
Iron Fork is Thursday November 7, 6-10pm, at International Market Square, 275 Market Street, Minneapolis. UPDATE: IT’S SOLD OUT! LET ME KNOW IF YOU’RE COMING IN THE COMMENTS!
